Brownwood senior safety Noah Gonzalez is the pick for the Big Country Blitz 4A Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Gonzalez, an all-district defensive back a year ago, had 134 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery as a key part of the 12-2 Lions in 2023.
