Big Country Blitz 5A MVPs

We were blessed to see some great individual talent on the field at the 5A level in the Big Country this season.

UTEP signee Ryland Bradford of Abilene High is your Big Country Blitz 5A Offensive MVP, while junior Dycin Davis of Cooper earns the Defensive MVP.

Bradford caught 58 passes this season for 1002 yards and 19 touchdowns, while adding nearly 500 yards and 9 more scores on the ground.

Davis racked up 95 tackles, 25 of them for loss, and an impressive 13 sacks.

Also considered for the Offensive MVP were:

Wylie QB Bear Meng: 2394 yds, 25 td passing; 276 yds, 7 td rushing
Cooper WR Zavian Alexander: 72 rec, 851 yds, 11 td
Wylie RB Julius Laine: 899 yds, 12 td rushing; 9 rec, 85 yds
Abilene High QB Brayden Henry: 1071 yds, 13 td passing; 792 yds, 11 td rushing

On defense, the players also in the MVP mix were:

Wylie LB Ethan Hoffman: 120 tkl, 13 tfl, 5 sacks, 1 int, 4 ff
Cooper DB Jeramiah Appel: 101 tkl, 4 in, 13 pbu, 2 ff, 1 fr
Wylie DE Garrett Allison: 86 tkl, 16 tfl, 10 sacks, 6 pbu, 23 QB hurries
Abilene High LB Tra Shaw: 52 tkl, 8 tfl, 3 sacks, 3 fr, 1 ff, 1 int
