Abilene 7 on 7 State Qualifying Tournament Photo Gallery

Lake Belton and Odessa High advanced to the Division I State 7 on 7 Tournament at the Abilene qualifier today.

Abilene High went 3-0 in pool play victories over Permian 39-12, San Angelo Central 26-8 and Lake Belton 28-18 but were not eligible to play in the state qualifying round because they already qualified for state last weekend in Lubbock.

Cooper went 2-1, beating the Abilene High JV 39-6, falling to Copperas Cove 21-14 and beating Odessa High 27-21 in overtime. The Cougars did not advance out of pool play.

Wylie did not either, going 1-2 in pool play. The Bulldogs lost 32-20 to Plainview, 34-27 to Midland Legacy and beat Killeen 32-25.

The State 7 on 7 Tournament is scheduled for June 22-24 at Veterans Park in College Station.

Brownwood, Hawley, Clyde, Stamford and Merkel join Abilene High as area teams that have qualified for state so far.
