ABILENE HIGH (2-1) AT FRENSHIP (3-0)

SERIES HISTORY: Abilene High leads 3-1

The Eagles hope to bounce back from a 48-17 loss to 6A #20 Midland Legacy with a contest at 6A unbeaten Frenship.

Frenship is averaging just under 45 points per game but giving up a whole lot too (37.3 points per game).

An Abilene High offense that moved the ball well but didn’t finish in the red zone will have to score touchdowns against a powerful Frenship offense.

#9 INCARNATE WORD (1-1) AT ABILENE CHRISTIAN (2-0) - SATURDAY, 7 P.M.

SERIES HISTORY: ACU leads 7-4

The Wildcats face their toughest test so far as they welcome ninth-ranked Incarnate Word to town this weekend.

They feature a pair of Texas A&M transfers on offense. Zach Calzada, who quarterbacked the Aggies to a win over Alabama two years ago, and receiver Caleb Chapman team up for a pretty good passing and catching duo for IW. The Cardinals lost at UTEP 28-14 to start the season and beat Northern Colorado 42-7. ACU topped Northern Colorado 31-11 in week one.

The Wildcats should have their first real challenge of the season on Saturday after a pair of solid wins to start 2023.

It’s the first meeting between the teams since a 31-24 Incarnate Word win in San Antonio.
