Hardin-Simmons Holds Off Texas Lutheran + Photos
ABILENE, Texas — #20 Hardin-Simmons forced an incomplete pass on the final play of the game to get past Texas Lutheran 27-22 Saturday afternoon.
The Cowboys made it a happy homecoming at HSU and improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
The Bulldogs drove the field in the final minutes and got all the way to the HSU 12-yard line, but Caden Bosanko’s pass attempt as the clock ran out fell incomplete and the Cowboys earned the win.
The Cowboys got starting quarterback Gaylon Glynn back from injury. He had not played since a loss to Endicott on Sept. 22 and returned with a 22-29 passing effort for 224 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
Noah Garcia paced the Cowboy attack with 116 yards and a touchdown rushing and also caught three passes for 58 yards and a score.
Javion Mays and Cason Hanna led HSU with nine tackles each. Mays added a sack and a forced fumble.
The Cowboys head to Alpine next weekend to take on Sul Ross State.
Texas Lutheran (1-5, 0-2) will host East Texas Baptist on Saturday.
