Jim Ned vs. Mount Vernon Photos

Fans at The Ballpark in Arlington have seen some great baseball games in the past, and now you can add football to the list as well after Jim Ned held on to beat Mount Vernon 24-17 to advance to the 3A Division I state championship game against Hallettsville next week (Thursday, 7 p.m. - AT&T Stadium).

I went along for the ride to the game with Jim Ned team doctor Elliott Vann and high school football super fan Joe Galloway and enjoyed watching/taking a few photos from the stands. Congrats to the Indians, led by my old Hardin-Simmons teammate Matt Fanning.

I covered the last Jim Ned title game back in 2003 while I was still in school at HSU and working for KRBC-TV. Colt McCoy and company came up short against San Augustine at Ennis High School, here’s hoping the 2020 edition can complete the job.
