Blitz Picks: September 3/4

One week of regular season football is in the books for Texas 1A-4A schools, and it it was great to see teams back in action. I went to games Thursday and Friday and hope to do the same again this week.

Week one of Blitz Picks went pretty well, as I hit on 25 out of 30 (83.3%. Much better than my career free throw percentage.)

Here goes for week two, with MANY tough games to choose on the schedule!

Midland Greenwood (1-0) at Brownwood (0-1)

The Lions rough schedule continues as they host a Greenwood team that opened with a 28-12 win over Lubbock Estacado.
The pick: Greenwood

Snyder (0-1) at Levelland (0-1)

Snyder fell at home to Slaton in the season opener and now has to visit a Levelland team that put up 47 points in a loss to Andrews in week one.
The pick: Levelland

Sweetwater (0-1) vs Brownsboro (0-1) in Aledo

The Mustangs and Bears put this game together last minute after their initial week two opponents cancelled due to positive COVID-19 tests.
The pick: Sweetwater

Breckenridge (0-1) at Ballinger (1-0)

The Buckaroos hope to put some points on the board this week, but it’ll be tough against the Bearcats in their home opener.
The pick: Ballinger

The pick: Bangs

Holliday (0-1) at Eastland (0-1)

Here’s an intriguing battle between two teams that dropped out of the rankings after week one. Eastland fell to Wall 38-3, without star quarterback Behren Morton, while Holliday got shut out at home by Iowa Park, 28-0.
The pick: Eastland

The Wolves stumbled at state ranked Albany in their season opener and now must face Crane, who didn’t play in week one, in their first home game of the season.
