#9 Incarnate Word 27, ACU 20

The nationally-ranked Cardinals outscored ACU 17-10 in the fourth quarter to earn a hard-fought road victory.

The game was tied 10-10 at the half and after three quarters but Incarnate Word got the best of the Wildcats in the fourth quarter.

Texas A&M and Auburn transfer Zach Calzada had a big game for the Cardinals, throwing for 373 yards and a touchdown and running for two more scores to lead the way. Brandon Porter caught ten passes for 201 yards and a score.

Maverick McIvor went 15-32 for 189 yards with an interception for ACU. Jermiah Dobbins ran for 106 yards and a touchdowns and Cooper McCasland caught four passes for 64 yards.

Darius Moore was the Wildcats’ leading tackler with nine stops.

Howard Payne 85, Lyon College 0

The Yellow Jackets outclassed NAIA to Division III transfer Lyon College in Brownwood Saturday, outscoring the Scots 47-0 in the first quarter to roll to victory. The score was 68-0 by the half.

HPU outgained Lyon 689 to 94 and nine different players scored for the Jackets.

Tucker Bridwell completed 29 of 33 passes for 376 yards and five touchdowns, setting a new school single-game passing percentage record by hitting on 87.9% of his passes.

Former Brownwood Lion Konyln Anderson was the top rusher with 106 yards and a touchdown.

Jordan Carroll paced the receivers with five grabs for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Hardin-Simmons, McMurry and Cisco College were all off on Saturday.
