Brock got past Graham last week in triple overtime to avenge its only loss of the season and now gets set for an even tougher test against Carthage.

Carthage did not win it all last season, but they have won nine state titles since 2008.

Wall got past a Canadian team that had knocked them out of the playoffs the previous two seasons last week; now they draw Gunter.

The Tigers are the defending 3A Division II state champs and are looking for their third state title in a row.

The Hawks hope to reach the state title game for the first time since 2013 when they fell to Cameron Yoe in the 2A Division I championship game.

Stamford put it on Post last week 48-26, while Hamilton won in the final minutes over Axtell 15-14 in the Region II championship game.

Stamford is looking to punch a ticket to the state championship game for the first time since they won back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013, while this is uncharted territory for Hamilton. Hamilton is in the state semis for the first time in program history and had never even made it to the regional title game until last week.

While both teams are 14-0, Stamford has won all 14 of their games by double figures, by an average of 38 points per game, and the closest game was a 16-point win over Hawley.

Hamilton’s average margin of victory is 18, including four contests decided seven points or less.

The only common opponent between the two is De Leon. Stamford beat the Bearcats 44-20 in week two, while Hamilton beat them 35-28 to win the District 5 title in Week 11.

Hamilton is no doubt a very good team to still be playing in December, but Stamford has proven to be a dominant team and is the pick to advance to play for the 2A Division One state championship.
