ABILENE HIGH (1-0) AT COOPER (0-1)

SERIES: COOPER LEADS 36-26

The Eagles looked great in their week one 49-14 win at 6A Permian, while the Cougars came up short on the road against 6A Keller 37-14.

Records get thrown out the window in the Crosstown Showdown, however, as many upsets have happened over the years.

Abilene High looks to be a big favorite after the way things went in the season opener, as the Eagles scored on the ground and through the air and played great on defense as well.

Cooper needs to get better play all around, but you can be sure they’ll fight to the end against their rivals from the north side.

The Warbirds won last year 14-10, but the Cougars have claimed victory in three of the previous four meetings. The series is even at 5-5 over the last ten meetings.

The game will be the first in the renovated Shotwell Stadium, which will include a new and improved press box.
