ACU Rolls Past Northern Colorado in Season Opener + Photo Gallery
ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Christian got 2023 off to a strong start with a 31-11 win over visiting Northern Colorado Thursday night.
The Wildcats led 14-0 after one quarter and 21-3 at the half on their way to the win.
The game was not as close as the score indicates, as the Wildcats outgained the Bears 493–190. ACU gained 268 yards passing and 225 yards passing in the victory.
Former Jim Ned great Xavier Wishert ran for 58 yards and two touchdowns on ten carries in his first real collegiate action.
Jermiah Dobbins led the way with 83 yards on the ground, and Maverick McIvor threw for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Darius Moore, Dorian Plumley, and Cirby Coheley paced ACU with seven tackles apiece.
