Miller resigns from Abilene Christian ahead of first-round playoff game
ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Christian will open the TAPPS Six-Man Division II playoffs Friday against Dallas Lutheran without head coach Daren Miller, who resigned last Friday.
Miller said, “We had a bullying incident on our team and Abilene Christian School didn’t like the way I handled it. I decided it was best for me to step down if they didn’t support me.”
Abilene Christian School President and CEO, and assistant football coach, Kirk Wade said he could not comment on personnel issues and that the school would post the head coaching job after the playoffs. The Panther assistant coaches will all chip in with head coaching duties for their game Friday
Miller was in his second season as head coach of the Panthers and had a 12-7 record and two trips to the playoffs.
Abilene Christian will play Dallas Lutheran in Trent Friday night at 7 p.m. in the first round of the playoffs.
