Top Scoring Defenses After Week 2

Two teams that struggled to go a combined 0-20 in 2023 have really turned things around through two weeks of 2024, and a lot of it can be attributed to a strong defense.

Ballinger shut out Christoval last week and Munday allowed just six points to Winters, now both are among the stingiest defenses in the Big Country. Brownwood has a smaller sample size having only played one game, but the Lions check it at number three on the list.

Eastland had a short drop from tied for first to fourth, while Hawley jumps from ten to five after shutting out Albany.

Brownwood, Bangs, and Comanche are new to the top 15 this week, with Winters and Coleman dropping out.

Baird, thanks to a pair of shut outs, stays at the top spot in the six-man defensive rankings this week, with Gordon, Blanket, and Jayton close behind. Those four were in the top five a week ago as well. May drops out of the top five, but not far to number seven.

Rising Star, Hermleigh, Ira and Highland are new to the graphic this week, with Moran, Rule, Strawn, Santa Anna, and Roby dropping out.
