Wylie is in the playoffs will host Cooper Friday for the Southtown Showdown. A Bulldog win gets them the district championship, the #1 seed and a likely bi-district home playoff game against El Paso High (5-4, 2-2).
The Bulldogs could end up #2 or #3 with a loss and a Rider win over Lubbock High. Canutillo (7-2, 4-0), El Paso Andress (4-5, 3-1) or El Paso Chapin (4-5, 3-1) would be the opponents if they end up second or third. Third has to travel to El Paso, while #1 and #2 get home playoff games in the first round.
Zephyr (8-1, 3-0) enjoyed a week ten bye and will wrap up the regular season with a huge game against Blanket.
PLAYOFF SCENARIOS
Blanket will face Zephyr for the 15-1A D2 championship this week. The winner is the #1 seed and the loser the #2 seed in the postseason. Cherokee is the bi-district matchup for the #2 seed and Richland Springs awaits the district winner in the playoffs.
STILL PERFECT
Hawley is the only remaining unbeaten team in the Big Country Blitz coverage area after May fell to Jonesboro.
Ira and Stamford fall from the ranks of the “almost perfect” after dropping games in week 10.
