1A Division I MVPs

The state champs from Gordon made a clean sweep of the statewide awards, so it only makes sense that they would do the same in the Big Country.

Stryker Reed is your Big Country 1A Division I Offensive MVP, while Brayden Walters is the 1A Division I Defensive MVP.

Reed ran for 1,078 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Walters was the Longhorns leading receiver this season in addition to his stellar play on a dominating defense.

Also considered for the Offensive MVP were Westbrook standout Grayson Jeffrey (2,011 yards, 41 td rushing; 838 yards, 15 td passing; 9 catches, 119 yds, 2 td receiving), Ira fullback Jeren Pena, and Gordon’s Ry Reed, who ran for 907 yards and 26 touchdowns. Reed, the state title game defensive MVP, was also considered for the Big Country defensive award.

Westbrook senior Damien Stewart (95 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, 1 interception), Knox City’s Cameron Hernandez, and May Tiger Ben Harrell were also considered for the Defensive MVP. Harrell and Hernandez were standouts on offense this season as well.

Many more Big Country players delivered quality seasons, and they are listed as the Best of the Rest for 2024.
