Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Banquet

I enjoyed getting the opportunity to shoot the 23rd annual Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame induction banquet Monday night in Abilene.

Eight individuals and the Estes family were inducted, and, being running a football-centric website, it was great to learn more about inductee Jay Hess and the 1982 AA state champion Eastland Mavericks.

I really had no clue how “ahead of the times” the Mavericks were in regards to throwing the football. I also didn’t know how many last minute comebacks the “Miracle Mavs” had in their playoff run as well.
